We are looking for a DevOps engineer to focus on keeping this dynamic engineering team productive with automation tools, and their platform secure and happily buzzing along.

Job requirements

Roles & Responsibilities 

• Be one of the custodians of the platform which utilises AWS and will be responsible for ensuring a secure, highly available, operationally stable and DR enabled environment
• Scripting of environment and DevOps processes
• Spearhead performance and availability incidents
• Support the product engineering team with CI/CD automation
• Assist the engineering team to identify opportunities for increasing application performance and ultimately client experience
• Introduce innovation by staying abreast of DevOps industry trends as well as cloud platform innovation
• Partner with the engineering team and provide input on engineering design and architecture based on your knowledge of platform capability
• Implement comprehensive real-time monitoring across the entire platform and running applications. Identify leading and lagging metrics to provide insight into

  • Performance
  • Costs
  • Utilisation

• Assist in establishing best practices

Ideal Candidate

• You have the ability to work on your own, sometimes spearheading a new direction with minimal guidance
• You are a DevOps specialist with demonstrable experience in automation, CI/CD, Unix based systems
• Experienced in architecting, securing and managing AWS, or other major cloud platforms
• You have implemented monitoring, incident, alerting and escalation systems
• You know how to optimise an application to improve responsiveness
• Have implemented DR/BCP practises and procedures
• Experienced in managing socket, RESTful, containerised, serverless, workflow and messaging based architectures
• You have experience with Node.JS/Python/Bash
• You are experienced in managing SQL and NoSQL databases
• Cloud and DevOps certifications are a bonus
• You work well with a wide variety of people of different skills levels and experience
